No snow for Christmas? No problem. Lights, lights, lights!
My kick boxing lessons are really paying off. I gave that snowman

I own no interest in any of these houses!

What does Thanksgiving mean to Me?
by
Catherine

Of course, Thanksgiving means taking the time to give thanks for all of the wonderful people, gifts, pets, and events in my life. This year, it also meant sleeping late and enjoying a turkey dinner by the glow of the television!

Goodbye Auckland, Hello Hobbiton

Click on the thumbnail above to watch the video in Quicktime.

At this time last year, we were in New Zealand! Sigh. To celebrate the one-year anniversary of our New Zealand vacation, I thought it would be nice to review our brief stop in Hobbiton, one of the sets in the Lord of the Rings films. For the three of you who aren’t aware, The Lord of the Rings was largely shot in New Zealand. The sheep farmers who allowed their land to be used as the hobbit village subsequently decided herding tourists through their property would be a good deal more profitable than herding sheep. And as you’ll see, this place attracts tourists from all over the world. Of course, when you see the brochures, they make it appear as if the set still looks like it does in the movies -- complete with Bilbo’s rustic home and a garden full of giant cabbages. But unfortunately, they had already begun deconstructing the set before the farmers decided to open their new venture, and the producer of the films (New Line) wouldn’t allow them to return it to the same state as that used in the trilogy. Thus, let’s just say the village wasn’t quite as polished as we had anticipated. And by the way, when you see the intro, keep in mind I was suffering from a serious case of jetlag.

The Quicktime version of the video is much better quality than the Windows Media version. Hence, the Quicktime version is the default on this entry.

Every time I invite my husband to go on a walk with me he says, "Walkin's for squares." So, I thought I'd put that idea to music.

Guest starring: Mathew, Scott, Meghan, and Hanna.

My Nephew is Born!

Click the thumbnail above to watch the video in Windows Media Player.

My sister, Meghan, and her husband, Scott, just welcomed their second child, Patrick, into the world. Hurrah!

Patrick's big sister, Hanna, is slowly getting used to the idea of having a new baby around the house. I'm sure the peace sign that she gives at the end of the video is only a temporary idea.

Charleston RiverDogs Game

This is a little movie to document our attendance at the Charleston RiverDogs game on July 8. We had a really good time.

Apparently, a little league tournament was in town that day. Several boys took the field with the players before the game. Some of the boys were more enthusiastic than others about this opportunity.

There is always someone who gets engaged at a sporting event. We are still unsure of the answer at this game.

Finally, my husband bought two small commemorative baseball bats at the game. Boys will be boys........

Sleep

"Such Great Heights" by Iron & Wine reminds me of sleep. The song is not about sleep but the singer sounds like he is singing a lullaby.

If this video does not make you feel like taking a nap, hopefully it will make you feel relaxed.

Mahna Mahna

Do you remember the "Mahna Mahna" skit from The Muppets? That was the inspiration for this little dance.

San Francisco Trip/Vloggercon

My friend, Kathy, and I went west to San Francisco for Vloggercon. We learned a ton about vlogging. We were in sessions all day, so I didn't do any touristy tours.....only a bit of shopping on Union Square.
